Operations Director
Middletown, RI | Fractional or Full-Time | On-Site
We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and hands-on Operations Director to work with our existing team to lead and optimize our day-to-day operations across capacity constraints, warehousing, fulfillment, logistics, systems, and team development.
This role is ideal for a dynamic operational leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys building structure within growing businesses, and can help scale operational systems and workflows to support continued growth.
As a growing consumer products business, we are at an important stage of operational evolution. The warehouse and fulfillment operation was built to support a smaller business and now requires thoughtful assessment, optimization, and scalable process improvement as we continue targeting 20–30% year-over-year growth.
The Operations Director will play a key leadership role in evaluating current workflows, identifying operational inefficiencies, improving labor and space utilization, strengthening inventory and fulfillment processes, and building operational discipline across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations across assembly, receiving, warehousing, fulfillment, logistics, and facilities
- Evaluate and optimize existing warehouse workflows, layout, slotting, replenishment, and operational
processes
- Develop operational strategies that improve efficiency, scalability, throughput, and service levels
- Oversee assembly planning, scheduling, labor balancing, and workflow optimization
- Manage inventory control, receiving processes, and operational accuracy
- Partner cross-functionally with sales, inventory, merchandising, and customer teams to support strong
fulfillment execution and customer experience
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and establish operational KPIs and accountability rhythms
- Optimize ERP and operational systems related to inventory, fulfillment, and reporting (Epicor P21
experience a plus) - Lead, coach, and develop operational team members and managers
- Support workforce planning, cross-training, and leadership development
- Improve operational structure while maintaining a collaborative and positive team culture
- Support facility planning, space utilization, and future operational scalability
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards
- Manage operational budgets and contribute to overall business planning
Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations, warehouse management, fulfillment,
manufacturing, or supply chain
- Proven success improving operational efficiency within growing businesses
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, logistics, inventory management, and fulfillment
workflows - Experience implementing process improvement and operational discipline within scaling organizations
- Working knowledge of LEAN methodologies and continuous improvement principles
- Experience with ERP/WMS systems; Epicor P21 experience strongly preferred
- Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
- Experience with S&OP, inventory planning, and operational forecasting preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
Physical & Operational Requirements
- Ability to regularly walk the warehouse floor and actively engage with operations teams
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 49 pounds as needed
- Comfortable working within active warehouse and distribution environments, including periods of standing, bending, reaching, and walking throughout the facility

Production Assistant
Middletown, RI | Full-Time, Part-Time, or Seasonal | On-Site
The E. Frances Production Assistants are responsible for assembling cards, notepads, boxed sets and other products. Quality control, attention to detail, and efficient speeds are crucial.
Team members are not confined to a single task and will perform a variety of duties. Each member in the office must work as a team with good communication skills to keep the E.Frances Paper atmosphere a positive one.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:
- Hard worker and detail-oriented
- Efficiently paced to meet production goals in a timely manner
- Takes ownership of job and shows consistent initiative
- Team player - pitch in when needed - communicate effectively with peers and management
- Dependable and on time
- Able to help stock large deliveries, organizing and putting ‘raw goods’ in the library
- Able to climb ladders, lift boxes up to approx 50 lbs. and be on your feet most of the day
Compensation: $20 per hour
